The first clock tower picture has the blue sky replaced by a spectacular sunset. The way this was done, was to load the picture in Photoshop, select the blue sky, then delete all the sky, leaving a transparent background in place of the sky. Next this picture was placed on top of the sunset picture, where the transparent part shows the sunset, and the tower masks the lower part of the sunset.

In the picture of the bluebonnets at sunset, a similar process was used. But the sky around the tops of the trees was difficult to select, so I just left that part, which made for a sort of misty outline around them.
